He went down, and he went down hard. The once-optimistic Bears were blind-sided in the Meadowlands on Sunday night, getting completely outplayed in a 17-3 loss to the Giants.

Jay Cutler took the brunt of the abuse, absorbing an NFL-record nine sacks in the first half. After this final one on a hit he never saw coming from Aaron Ross, Cutler’s head hit the turf and he was diagnosed with a concussion at halftime. It was clear he couldn’t make it back into the game, as he had trouble rising to his feet several times and even stumbled toward the wrong sideline once.
